Revving up support for the green movement on the racetrack

Leilani Münter is a professional race car driver who is doing her part for the environment by greening NASCAR from the inside track.

Leilani burns fuel at speeds of up to 320 kms per hour. This unlikely hero has started a green initiative in an effort to combat the carbon footprint her racing profession creates. From speaking out on Capitol Hill, to using her car for eco-friendly advertising, Münter is spreading her message to a previously untapped demographic.

"Here's an oxymoron for you – a tree hugging race car driver."

I can't get over Leilani! It's so cool! She seems like a genuinely sweet person. I saw a little while back she went to the Cove in Taiji with the producer of the film...she really is inspirational. I also follow her on twitter @LeilaniMunter because she updates all the time on her racing and her conservation efforts.

I worry about that too, Stella - biofuels just aren't the solution, in my opinion. I do get a thrill out of watching Leilani drive fast and win, I must admit!
