Campaign Prizes and Category Prizes will be determined by “crowd-sourced” voting – your votes determine the winners. In order to be a winner of the contest Grand Prize, an impartial panel of judges from the CineFocus Canada and TVO will review all eligible entries submitted, as well as any comments posted to the GreenHeroes' gallery. Each entry will be judged according to the entrant's response to the Evaluation Questions and any comments or other testimonials posted to the GreenHeroes gallery, based on the following criteria (which will be weighed equally): the GreenHero's turning point story, the type and degree of challenges they overcame, the overall effect of their effort and its ability to reach others and help the planet, and the number of votes.
The top nominated stories in the Category Contest entries will be considered a "Finalist", subject to compliance with these Contest Rules for a total of 7 Finalists.
For the Grand Prize, the winners in each of the Category Contest will be submitted to an impartial panel of judges (as described above), comprised of environmentalists, broadcasters and sponsors, who will review all of the 7 elections and any comments in respect thereof posted to the GreenHeroes gallery, using the same criteria set out above.
Prizes must be accepted as awarded. In order to be declared a winner, each potential winner of any Prize must first correctly answer, unaided, a time limited mathematical skill testing question administered by CineFocus Canada at a pre-arranged, mutually convenient time. Before being awarded a Prize, potential winner will be required (in addition to any consent previously given, if applicable) to sign and return within the time stipulated by the Contest Sponsors, a full release and indemnity form stating that he/she has read and understood these official rules and regulations
The Finalists must agree to submit to any background checks, including criminal checks, as may be required by the Contest Sponsors. Contest Sponsors reserve the right to disqualify any Finalist depending on the results of the background or criminal check or if a Finalist does not agree to comply with any checks. Should a Finalist be disqualified, the Nomination from that regional group having the next highest score will then be selected as the Finalist from that region.
The Contest is subject to all Federal, Provincial and local laws, as well as the rules adopted in view of said laws. The personal information provided to enter the Contest will be used only to administer the Contest, and for no other reason.
